Tea Tree Oil Home Remedy For Acne And More

Tea Tree Oil is extracted from the leaves of tea trees which grow in Australia. It is a clear liquid with a distinctive smell.  It has anti-bacterial, anti-septic and germicidal properties It is great to use on cuts and scrapes, and is also great to use to treat acne as a home remedy for acne.

Tea Tree Oil (5%) is said to be as effective as benzoyl Peroxide, however, it did take longer to work.

Tea Tree oil can be dabbed onto a cotton ball and applied directly to your blemishes.

For oily, acne-prone skin, try this toner using a combination of

1/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup witch hazel
1 teaspoon tea tree oil

Tea Tree Oil is also great as a moisturizer and cleanser.  It opens clogged pores removes bacteria from the skin.  It is also an anti-oxidant. Tea Tree oil controls free radicals in the body and boosts the production of collagen.

Tea Tree oil is a handy natural skin care ingredient to have around the house. In addition to treating acne, it can also be used on insect bites, sunburn, and blisters.  It is also used on head lice, athlete's foot, toenail infections and rashes.

VALUABLE TIP: You can add a few drops of tea tree oil to your vaporizer (or steam bath) this winter to help relieve coughs and colds.

Natural Skin Care Recipes For Dry Skin

Whether you suffer from dry skin all year long, or just need some extra moisture during the cooler temperature months, these natural skin care recipes for dry skin will hydrate your skin and give you the healthy radiant skin you are looking for.

Here are two dry skin facial SCRUB recipes you’ll like:

Moisturizing body and facial scrub – you can either use salt or sugar.  Sugar tends to be more gentle than salt, so it’s up to you. If you have super sensitive skin, you may want to use brown sugar.

Use either olive oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil, almond oil, safflower oil or vegetable oil – your going to add one part of oil to 2 parts of the sugar or salt and mix together in a small container. (don’t be alarmed if the salt seperates and falls to the bottom – it will do that).

Use this scrub mixture during showering or bathing. Apply mixture to wet skin in a circular motion and lightly scrub the face, or any other areas of dry skin (elbows, knees, feet). Finish by rinsing well with warm water.

Brown Sugar Scrub for Dry Skin
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon (or less) olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil
Put sugar in the palm of your hand and mix together with oil to create paste. Massage into skin in a circular motion.  Rinse with warm water.

Here are a few great  MASK recipes for dry skin:
Nourishing Anti-Wrinkle Mask For Dry Skin
2 tablespoons cottage cheese
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Mix together and apply to face for 15-20 minutes

Honey Mask
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoons olive oil
Heat mixture until it becomes more fluid. Apply mask and cover with gauze cloth for approximately 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.

Dry Skin Mask
4 tablespoons yogurt
½ banana
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
Apply mixture to skin and leave on approximately 10-15 minutes.  Massage into skin well before rinsing with warm water.

Natural Skin Care Recipes Using Oatmeal

Benefits of Oatmeal in Natural Skin Care

Oatmeal is a powerful tool in natural skin care.  The benefits of using oatmeal in your natural skin care routine are numerous . For starters, oatmeal removes dead skin cells, soothes and softens the skin.  Oatmeal also contains anti-inflammatory properties and restores a natural moisture balance to the skin.

In addition, oatmeal also deep cleans pores, exfoliates, removes dirt from the skin, and effectively reduces dry skin and itching.  Oatmeal was said to be used by the Egyptians as a primary ingredient in youth-promoting facial masks.

Listed below are a few easy-to-make natural oatmeal skin care recipes for you to try. Used rolled oats in most of these recipes. (some can use instant oatmeal). Rolled oats should be cooked and cooled before use, and a food processor (or coffee grinder) can be useful for these recipes.

Simple basic facial mask recipe
In food processor (or coffee grinder) grind down your oats and put in a jar with a lid for storage.

Add milk or water to a handful of the  oatmeal to make a paste. (Milk will provide more moisture for dry skin).  Cover the face with this mask and leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

*recipe can be used by cooking and cooling your rolled oats (without a food processor) and adding your milk or water, and follow the same procedure.

Gentle face cleanser mask
½ cup oatmeal or cornmeal
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (or enough to make a paste)
Mix the ingredients together. Apply to the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Oatmeal and baking soda scrub
2 teaspoons rolled oats (processed in food processor or grinder)
1 teaspoon baking soda

Mix ingredients together and add enough water to make a paste.  Gently rub paste into the skin in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Egg and Oatmeal facial mask
1 egg
1 tablespoon oatmeal
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Crack the egg into a bowl and whip. Add the oatmeal and olive oil  until you have a smooth and creamy paste. Apply to face for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse off with warm water.

Banana oatmeal face mask
This is a great recipe for mature skin. Banana and honey are loaded with vitamins , antioxidants and increase circulation in the skin. Use this recipe on a weekly basis to reduce  fine lines and wrinkles and increase the overall appearance of your skin.

½ cup cooked oatmeal
1 teaspoon honey
½ of a banana, mashed

How To Reduce The Signs Of Aging With Super Supplements

SUPER SUPPLEMENTS – NUTRIENTS FOR ANTI-AGING

“Free Radicals” are unstable oxygen molecules that attach themselves to the molecules, attacking cell membranes and vital cell components.  They can deactivate important enzymes and even damage DNA.  The oxidation process that that takes place is believed to be responsible for the breakdown of cells that precedes aging and disease.

.

Antioxidant vitamins and nutrients work to “sweep up” free radicals and neutralize them.  The primary antioxidants are vitamin A in the form of beta carotene, vitamin C and E, and the trace elements selenium and zinc, but there are also a number of other antioxidant nutrients.  Let’s review the benefits of these nutrients as they pertain to our natural skin care .

Vitamin  E is the main fat-soluble antioxidant used in the body.  This means Vitamin E must be taken with foods containing fat in order to be assimilated. Vitamin E has the strongest healing ability of all vitamins. Although vitamin E is crucial to body health, it is not manufactured by the body. To receive the antioxidant effects of vitamin E, you will need to take more than the current RDA (recommended daily allowance).  A dosage of 800 to 1200 I.U. a day would suffice.  (You can split up the dosage and take at different times during the day).

Vitamin E may be applied directly to the skin via lotions and creams, as it is a highly moisturizing oil.  Applied on the skin it can protect from UV ray, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and help to delay the progression of aging.  Taken either way, it helps heal scarring and wounds. If you have ever used Vitamin E on the skin, you’ll know that it is very thick and heavy. Because of this it is easier to use as a treatment left on the skin for a few hours and then washed off.

Vitamin C is also an antioxidant. It helps LDL cholesterol from being oxidized in to its damaging form. It activates folic acid and prevents the oxidation of other vitamins.   Vitamin C helps the body heal itself, resist infection and build and maintain collagen and elastin. Our need for vitamin C increases with age. It strengthens the skin and capillary walls.  Fruits such as papaya, strawberries, and cantaloupe are high in vitamin C, as are dark green vegetables, cabbage, potatoes and rose hips.

Vitamin A is one of the two vitamins that can be absorbed by the skin.  It is highly beneficial to the hair and nails as well.  It helps fight acne and premenstrual skin eruptions. It increases blood flow, stimulates the skin and helps to keep it supple.  Vitamin A is the only vitamin that is stored by the body, making it potentially toxic if too much is stored.  This is why it is safer to take large doses of beta-carotene.  Beta carotene can be safely taken in doses ranging from 5000 to 25,000 I.U. daily.

Zinc is important in health skin and necessary for collegen formation.  It aids in assimilation of vitamins A and B and combines with Vitamin A for protein synthesis, which makes healing possible.  Good sources of zinc are eggs, fish, peas ,nuts ,beans, grain, sunflower seeds and dairy products. Zinc helps to prevent acne, regulates oil glands and clears skin problems.

Natural Skin Care Don't Pay For The Jar

I recently read some articles that I feel I HAVE to share with you .

One of the most recent was about a woman who was suing Proctor & Gamble because she bought a wrinkle cream that didn’t show results in the promised time frame….Well, okay. Are you surprised by this? I think I’d feel lucky to just get my money back and consider it a “learning experience”.

Also, recently I am finding articles about more and more anti-aging products that  contain MERCURY as an ingredient. Okay..well, that is a real scary  scenario if you ask me ! Makes me even more cautious about what I buy to put on my face.!

And the latest… well, try to wrap our brain around this one.   I found an article about a cosmetic company that is releasing a “limited edition moisturizing cream that promises to REDUCE fine lines and wrinkles – at the cost of $13,000.00.  Yes…this IS NOT a typographic error !  $13,000.00.  The article goes on to explain the the cream is currently being sold for $632.00 ( 1.8 oz package), but they are putting out 3 jars of it (Limited Edition)  “which will be sold in limited packaging as the moisturizer is encased in 30 layers of crystal and housed in a handmade jar topped with 3 PLATINUM RINGS!  They go on to explain about the fancy jar, but make no reference to the product contained INSIDE the jar.

I am not sharing this with you to cause more frustration, and I don’t “have it in” for major cosmetic companies, BUT, MY DEAR FRIENDS, Cosmetic companies are out to make money and are NOT “genuine in their advertising promises !  WE ALL KNOW THIS, but yet we are guilty of having hope – and “let me try just ONE MORE TIME to see if maybe this one will work” surfaces again.   And guess what? Disappointment and frustration again.

So where does this leave us ?  Hopeless, angry, defeated,  and ready to just accept what mother nature has to throw at us ?

I THINK NOT !!!
THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE.

What you ask? …. It’s simple.

All Natural Skincare.  It take a little research, some experimenting, but you must have a solid system to follow that gives you solid facts and information.  A blueprint, if you will, to put you in control of your own skin care needs, and to help you achieve the results you are looking for.
That’s where Sue Dolan and Naturally Skinsational comes into the picture.  That’s what Naturally Skinsational is all about – the knowledge, guidance and the ability to give you the power to take control of your own skincare needs.

How to fight the signs of aging and your skin care concerns is not remedied by searching for that “miracle in a bottle” or that “magic potion” that doesn’t exist. It’s just not that “easy”.

You need the guidance to get the power and knowledge to win the battle and Naturally Skinsational is the best place to  turn . And remember, you can follow me for tips, tricks and natural homemade skincare recipes (a lot of them used by me personally) or recommended to me from  reliable sources. And don't forget that what you put into your body has an effect on your skin as well. "Garbage in-garbage out" still applies. Remember to eat right and drink enough water to help your skin as well.

On a tight budget?  Natural skin care is cost effective - you probably have several natural ingredients in your kitchen now to get you started.

If you have any tips or trick to share, please do so before you leave and remember to share with your friends too.  MIRACLES DO NOT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT – be patient, and most important – Stick with your routine. But never be afraid to try new ingredients as well, and I guarantee you will not be left feeling powerless or defeated again.

Aloe Vera Benefits You Must Know

One of the hottest natural additives today that is now being added into everything from hand sanitizers to laundry soap is, ironically, something that has already been used for centuries. This substance is the Aloe Vera plant.

Most americans keep the aloe vera plant in their homes to aid in soothing burns and healing cuts. But what many people don't know is that aloe vera's healing properties go way beyond that.  This miracle plant can also help control acne, psoriasis, frostbite and blisters and help maintain healthy beautiful skin.

Also vera also contains a large amount of phytosterols,  which are plant lipids that help improve skin elasticity eliminating he effects of scarring and wrinkles.  Aloe vera gel also has moisturizing properties and also possesses the ability to oxygenate the skin tissue helping it heal faster. This little plant also contains 200 other active biological agents including gycerol, Vitamin E and Zinc.

How To Get Rid of Dark Circles Under The Eye

There are several reasons we get dark circles under our eyes.

Of Course, age is a factor – our skin tends to thin as we get older.
Lack of sleep will also do it.

Stress is another contributor.

Sun exposure is also a factor,

Allergies and hay fever can contribute as well as an Iron deficiency.

So with all that said, what can we do to get rid of them?

Well, there are several natural home remedies you can use.  Here are just a few simple ones I have today to share with you.

Put a used teabag (somewhat dried out) over your eyes for about 10 minutes.    The tea can be black tea, green tea or white tea.

Apply cucumber or potato juice on eye with a cotton ball.

Apply a mixture of lemon juice and tomato juice on dark circles 2x per day.

Apply creams that have vitamin E or C in them.

Apply crushed mint leaves under eyes for 20 minutes.

Apply cucumber slices to closed eyes for 15 minutes.

So How do we prevent these dark circle ?

Getting enough sleep will help – try to get at least 7 hours of sleep.

NEVER sleep with your makeup on.

Try not to rub your eyes.

Reducing your salt intake will help as well.

How To Remove Skin Moles

What Causes Skin Moles?

Skin moles are growths on the skin, often round or oval-shaped with a dark color. The color may however vary to different shades. Some skin moles are flat while others are a bit raised from the skin.

A skin mole is caused by the melanocyte cells in the skin. These cells produce melanin and are responsible for the color of the skin, eyes and hair. It is formed when melanocyte cells do not spread thought the skin but grow in clusters.

Usually melanocyte cells grow normally and so the growth is usually benign. However in certain cases the melanocye cells may start to grow in an abnormal way, which may result in melanoma, a cancer of the skin.

Skin moles are very common. Most of them are present at birth while others appear as the person grows older. Some may also disappear with age.

Their main causes depend mainly on:

- Heredity
- Exposure to sunlight
- Hormonal changes
- Age

They may become darker.

The principle reason for this is too much exposure to sunlight. Heavy exposure to sunlight during childhood and the teenage years highly increases the chances of developing new skin moles or that current ones increase in size. Sun beds and tanning saloons can also increase their growth.

Our genes determine many factors. If your parents have plenty of skin moles, probably you will have a lot too. Further more a history of skin cancer in your family also increases the risk that a mole may grow or develops into a cancerous growth.

Hormonal changes also make them to grow or new ones to appear. This may more commonly happen during pregnancy, the menopausal stage and during teenage years.
Generally as we get older, some tend to disappear.
