Natural Skin Care Recipes For Dry Skin

Whether you suffer from dry skin all year long, or just need some extra moisture during the cooler temperature months, these natural skin care recipes for dry skin will hydrate your skin and give you the healthy radiant skin you are looking for.

Here are two dry skin facial SCRUB recipes you’ll like:

Moisturizing body and facial scrub – you can either use salt or sugar.  Sugar tends to be more gentle than salt, so it’s up to you. If you have super sensitive skin, you may want to use brown sugar.

Use either olive oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil, almond oil, safflower oil or vegetable oil – your going to add one part of oil to 2 parts of the sugar or salt and mix together in a small container. (don’t be alarmed if the salt seperates and falls to the bottom – it will do that).

Use this scrub mixture during showering or bathing. Apply mixture to wet skin in a circular motion and lightly scrub the face, or any other areas of dry skin (elbows, knees, feet). Finish by rinsing well with warm water.

Brown Sugar Scrub for Dry Skin
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon (or less) olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil
Put sugar in the palm of your hand and mix together with oil to create paste. Massage into skin in a circular motion.  Rinse with warm water.

Home Remedies for Sun Burn

Witch Hazel is a beneficial part of natural skin care.   Witch Hazel comes for the witch hazel tree, and contains numerous benefits in natural skin care.   Witch hazel can be used on insect bites, sunburns other burn as well as cuts and scrapes.  It stops the bleeding and help ease the pain.

Witch hazel is a natural astringent which helps to reduce skin irritation and prevent infections.  The tannin content in witch hazel has a strong astringent property as well as antioxidant properties.  It is gentle and non-drying and great to use on acne-prone skin.

Witch hazel has disinfecting properties, thus reducing bacteria.  It reduces irritation on the skin and causes a “numbing” effect when applied.   The tannins in witch hazel also tighten pores and swollen veins , and reduce inflammation and dryness.

Witch hazel is also great as a make-up remover.

Witch hazel also soothes psoriasis and eczema.

Looking for an effective topical remedy for acne?  Try this simple solution:

Take plain witch hazel straight from the bottle and apply twice a day (no more than that) to acne prone areas with a cotton ball.   Never take witch hazel orally !!

GET READY FOR A SUNBURN!   Yes, inevitably, sometime over the summer you will get a sunburn to some extent.  So here’s a few quick and simple home remedies to help you through it.
