Natural Skin Care Recipes For Dry Skin

Whether you suffer from dry skin all year long, or just need some extra moisture during the cooler temperature months, these natural skin care recipes for dry skin will hydrate your skin and give you the healthy radiant skin you are looking for.

Here are two dry skin facial SCRUB recipes you’ll like:

Moisturizing body and facial scrub – you can either use salt or sugar.  Sugar tends to be more gentle than salt, so it’s up to you. If you have super sensitive skin, you may want to use brown sugar.

Use either olive oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil, almond oil, safflower oil or vegetable oil – your going to add one part of oil to 2 parts of the sugar or salt and mix together in a small container. (don’t be alarmed if the salt seperates and falls to the bottom – it will do that).

Use this scrub mixture during showering or bathing. Apply mixture to wet skin in a circular motion and lightly scrub the face, or any other areas of dry skin (elbows, knees, feet). Finish by rinsing well with warm water.

Brown Sugar Scrub for Dry Skin
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon (or less) olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil
Put sugar in the palm of your hand and mix together with oil to create paste. Massage into skin in a circular motion.  Rinse with warm water.

Here are a few great  MASK recipes for dry skin:
Nourishing Anti-Wrinkle Mask For Dry Skin
2 tablespoons cottage cheese
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Mix together and apply to face for 15-20 minutes

Honey Mask
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoons olive oil
Heat mixture until it becomes more fluid. Apply mask and cover with gauze cloth for approximately 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.

Dry Skin Mask
4 tablespoons yogurt
½ banana
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
Apply mixture to skin and leave on approximately 10-15 minutes.  Massage into skin well before rinsing with warm water.

Peach mask for dry skin
Mash one large skinned peach
3  teaspoon honey
yogurt
Add mashed peach and honey together. ** Add 2 tablespoons yogurt to make a workable consistency.  Pat onto face and neck and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.

Natural Skin Care Recipes Using Oatmeal

Benefits of Oatmeal in Natural Skin Care

Oatmeal is a powerful tool in natural skin care.  The benefits of using oatmeal in your natural skin care routine are numerous . For starters, oatmeal removes dead skin cells, soothes and softens the skin.  Oatmeal also contains anti-inflammatory properties and restores a natural moisture balance to the skin.

In addition, oatmeal also deep cleans pores, exfoliates, removes dirt from the skin, and effectively reduces dry skin and itching.  Oatmeal was said to be used by the Egyptians as a primary ingredient in youth-promoting facial masks.

Listed below are a few easy-to-make natural oatmeal skin care recipes for you to try. Used rolled oats in most of these recipes. (some can use instant oatmeal). Rolled oats should be cooked and cooled before use, and a food processor (or coffee grinder) can be useful for these recipes.

Simple basic facial mask recipe
In food processor (or coffee grinder) grind down your oats and put in a jar with a lid for storage.

Add milk or water to a handful of the  oatmeal to make a paste. (Milk will provide more moisture for dry skin).  Cover the face with this mask and leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

*recipe can be used by cooking and cooling your rolled oats (without a food processor) and adding your milk or water, and follow the same procedure.

Gentle face cleanser mask
½ cup oatmeal or cornmeal
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (or enough to make a paste)
Mix the ingredients together. Apply to the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Oatmeal and baking soda scrub
2 teaspoons rolled oats (processed in food processor or grinder)
1 teaspoon baking soda

Mix ingredients together and add enough water to make a paste.  Gently rub paste into the skin in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Egg and Oatmeal facial mask
1 egg
1 tablespoon oatmeal
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Crack the egg into a bowl and whip. Add the oatmeal and olive oil  until you have a smooth and creamy paste. Apply to face for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse off with warm water.

Banana oatmeal face mask
This is a great recipe for mature skin. Banana and honey are loaded with vitamins , antioxidants and increase circulation in the skin. Use this recipe on a weekly basis to reduce  fine lines and wrinkles and increase the overall appearance of your skin.

½ cup cooked oatmeal
1 teaspoon honey
½ of a banana, mashed
Combined all ingredients to form a paste. Apply to face for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse off with cool water.
